The Department Store by Justin
Fleming (Inaugural winner of the Mitch
Mathews award)
Summary
It's called paradise. And it leaves Harrods for dead!
Paradise is the most immense, dazzling, sumptuous department
store in the history of retail therapy. But it's Hell
for Denise Baudu and her uncle, Paul, whose tiny boutique
must literally be crushed to make way.
They sharpen their scissors for the fight.
There's just one problem. The capitalist 'monster'
behind the paradise is no monster at all. Octave Mouret
is young, charming - and he's in love with Denise!
